


{"id":1811,"date":"2023-04-25T08:48:18","date_gmt":"2023-04-25T07:48:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kadppa.kdsg.gov.ng\/?p=1811"},"modified":"2023-05-27T18:54:28","modified_gmt":"2023-05-27T17:54:28","slug":"kadppa-partners-un-women-to-engage-stakeholders-on-gender-responsive-procurement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/web.kadppa.ng\/index.php\/2023\/04\/25\/kadppa-partners-un-women-to-engage-stakeholders-on-gender-responsive-procurement\/","title":{"rendered":"KADPPA Partners UN Women To Engage Stakeholders On Gender-Responsive Procurement"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Kaduna Public Procurement Authority (KADPPA), in collaboration with UN Women has sensitised procurement officers from 21 MDAs and other stakeholders in the state on Gender-Responsive Procurement in a two-day workshop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The workshop was a part of the Authority\u2019s effort to promote practices that would improve the degree to which procurement processes are gender-responsive to achieve great socioeconomic change for women in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the workshop, UN Women official Patience Ekechukwu enlightened participants on key gender concepts, and the justification for mainstreaming gender into institutional policies\/programmes. According to her, understanding gender concepts and terms would aid procurement officers in ensuring a fair play when carrying out their jobs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"720\" height=\"444\" src=\"https:\/\/kadppa.kdsg.gov.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/FotoJet-4.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1821\" srcset=\"http:\/\/web.kadppa.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/FotoJet-4.jpg 720w, http:\/\/web.kadppa.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/FotoJet-4-300x185.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><strong>A cross-section of participants at the Gender-Responsive Procurement workshop.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Another UN Women official, Dr. Chukwuemeka Onyimadu, spoke on Affirmative Procurement, and listed obstacles to women accessing opportunities in public procurement in Nigeria.
